Halloween 2012 (just a few days late)

It's Wednesday the 14th of November and I'm finally able sit down for a few minutes and able to write about our Halloween. We went to John and Ellen's 2nd annual Halloween party. This was Bryan and I's second halloween together, we like to say that their halloween party is where we met and I know that is where I fell in love with Bryan. (Too mushy I know)

This year we went as Batgirl and the Joker. I made my costume this year. It was the first time that I have ever had a fully homemade costume. I made a black and yellow tutu and painted the bat girl symbol on to my shirt. Ellen was Belle from Beauty and the Beast and John was a taco. Ellen actually dyed her wedding dress yellow for her costume. It looked great and still can't believe she did it but she said it was totally worth it.

Bryan and I had a blast, watching the UGA vs FL game, making "witches brew", and eating killer Mexican food at el rio. I can not wait until Ellen and Johns 3rd annual halloween party next year and the next year Bryan and I get to spend together!

Weekend up-date part deux ... reunited and it feels so good!!!

I am still glowing about the weekend that I had but I do have a little political rant that I would like to say first....

I am sure plenty of people are talking about the election on blogger because twitter and facebook are still blowing up and I am trying to stay away before I have to start "unfriending" people.  Please remember we are all Americans and we should be proud of our Country no matter what.  In God WE Trust!

The 5 GSU Girls (Cara, Alex, Kimberly, Laura and Sarah)
For my normal Friday, Saturday, and Sunday weekend Bryan and I hit up Statesboro.  After checking into hotel number two we met up with Kelly, Sarah and Michael and went to El Som, which was our favorite Mexican restaurant when we all attended Georgia Southern.   We basked in Margarita's, cheese dip and laughter.  It was just want I needed to be around WONDERFUL friends for the night.

My Mom and I
This Saturday we played our rival App State.  This weekend we usually do our tailgating big for our rivalry game.  But this weekend it was VERY special.  The 5 original girls were all together again.  We have not been together since Christmas last year.  Almost a whole year a whole year that has been way to long when all use to see each other a few times a quarter.

Saturday we started the day off right.  We had old friends, new friends and family members all join us at our tailgate spot.  We got to the tailgating fairly early but we had to because we had a huge meal to cook and of course wanted to pop-top for the big game.  We ate low country boil, drank bud light and cheered on the EAGLES!!  Southern ended up losing one of the best games I have been to, but win or lose it was great to be with friends and family and enjoy the time together!  After the game we went to Sarah and Michael's for dinner, hung out with our tailgate group and watched the Bama vs LSU game which was way to close for comfort also!
All in all it was one of the best weekends I have had in a long time.  I love seeing all my Georgia Southern friends and my Mom and Dad at the same time!  I cant not wait until next weekend, homecoming at GSU!

Happy Wednesday!

Fall Fun!!

The month of October.  One of my favorite months because of all the FUN FALL FESTIVITIES that happen in the area.  The past few weekend Bryan and I have been participating in some different fall activities:

Bryan and I drove up to Dawsonville, GA and went to the corn maze and pumpkin patch.   We had perfect fall-like weather for the windows and sun roof to be open.  Mid 70's low 50's perfect jean and shirtsleeve weather.  We took the "back roads" to Uncle Shucks.  It was a beautiful drive from Athens.  We even took a little detour to Dahlonega to drive up in the foothills of the Appalachian mountains.

When we made it to the corn maze we did all three corn mazes on the property.  I honestly thought that these mazes were going to be for the kids and really easy to figure out.  I was just hoping to spend some time outside with B.  But I'm not going to lie, if I didn't have Bryan with me I would still be lost in the first maze.  I could not figure out the map for the life of me and got really frustrated.  And I am usually good at reading maps in the car or on the boat when we are in a new territory or going off the beaten path.  We also took a look at the pumpkin patch but most of the "good" ones were already taken and I wanted more then a baby pumpkin.  I was perfectly happy with everything that we did that day and it crossed off many things we wanted to do this fall before it got to cold to us Southerners.

Happy Fall Y'all!

Weekend Update... Thursday and Friday

Good Monday Afternoon!!  Sorry that it has been a while from my last post.  It has been a really busy the past few weekend.  I still have not posted about the Halloween party Bryan and I went to but I guess that will be in a later post.  And then to top it all off we took a long weekend to celebrate our one year anniversary of dating.

The weekend started on Halloween which was Wednesday and the day that Bryan and I like to say is our "dating" Anniversary.  We kept it low key since we had a big weekend planed for the two of us.  Him and I went to dinner and then passed out candy to the kids that live in my neighborhood.  While hanging out we watched some TV and packed up for our weekend trip to southeast Georgia.

Thursday when Bryan and I drove down to Statesboro and Savannah where we split up the time with together time and football time.  Our first stop was to Statesboro to pick up football tickets for my parents to the GSU vs App State game and we did our damage at the bookstore before it was to busy on game day.  After our brief time on campus we went to the Beaver House and had lunch.  Best restaurant in Statesboro, GA!  It is considered a family style restaurant and they bring all the southern goodness to your table and when you run out of a certain item you can have a second order.  OMG, I miss going there on Sundays with the girls or on Wednesdays with Jason and Kyle when we were in college.  If you are ever in Statesboro go to the Beaver House!!

Thursday night we stayed in Savannah at the Double Tree (and we had a balcony on the top floor, it was a great view from the top) and Bryan had a night out planned for us.  He had made dinner reservation at the Melting Pot for dinner.  I had never been there before and it was just down the ways from our Hotel.  After a delicious and crazy filling dinner we went to my favorite bar for drinks in Savannah called Rocks on the Roof which is on top of one of the hotels on River Street.

On Friday we woke up and went to brunch at Huey's on River Street and walked around downtown to waste some time before we had to picked up some seafood I had ordered for the weekend and tailgating.   We made our way from Savannah back to Statesboro and stopped at camping world to take a look at some pull behind trailers for tailgating and camping int he next few years.  We finally checked into hotel number 2 for the remaining days of our vacation and a great football weekend!!  Can't wait to tell you all about the awesome Friday and Saturday we had in Statesboro while catching up with old friends and watching football!
